For anyone travelling, going on
holiday, visiting friends and family can be fraught with problems,
however if you have a disability, however large or small, some of
the most simple things that people take for granted can be a
'challenge'.
For us, having had first hand knowledge of the demands and issues faced by people, who for one reason or another, have a disability or a general mobility problem, has enabled us to build our services from our own experiences, Getting it wrong is not an option, leaving things to chance is not an option, providing a quality, timely, and reliable service is the only option. Some years ago now, my wife was involved in a road traffic accident that has left her with some physical disabilities, for over two years after the accident she was in & out of hospital having surgery & endured a variety of treatments. Our lives were turned upside down, up until that moment we knew nothing about the difficulties that some families & individuals faced everyday in going about their normal lives, things that most people take for granted became a challenge. For us, thankfully but slowly the quality of our lives did improve, although the world in which we knew had changed forever. Prior to moving to Lanzarote, we travelled fairly extensively and more often than not, the services and facilities relating to travelling with a disability were disappointing to say the least! We relocated to Lanzarote back in 2004, and subsequently have build up our company, Island Mobility, by pulling on our own experiences, by offering well maintained, good quality products & a reliable, timely service. We receive many recommendations and referrals, with clients returning again and again. We are committed to continuing with our policy of achieving a second to none mobility service. |
